Pacific Coast

The coast line is 254 kilometres long with black sand beaches and manglars. It has practically no bay or inlets and its directly open to sea.

The waves here are medium sized, but they can be appropriate to surf. Climate is hot and moist.

There are some beaches with many visitors and others are desolated, but less accessible.

The touristic infrastructure is not fully developed in most of these beaches, offering only the most basic: a little room and food. There are however, a few hotels with all commodities.

  Caribbean Coast

  Its coast line is 78 kilometres long and is totally different from the Pacific Coast. It has beaches of white sand, coconut grooves and mountains that end in the coast itself. The Amatique Bay protects this shores from the big waves of the Atlantic Ocean.

  The touristic infrastructure is more developed that in the Pacific, but still having limitations. There are many hotels of all categories and prices.
